The New York City Police Department made several arrests during a pro-Palestinian protest near the annual tree lighting ceremony in Rockefeller Center. The protesters attempted to push towards the tree but were stopped by police. The group then moved away from the scene and dispersed later in the evening. The protest coincided with the International Day of Solidarity With the Palestinian People. The Rockefeller Center Christmas lighting proceeded without incident. Before the event, authorities warned of potential disruptions due to protests related to the Israel-Hamas conflict. Last week, demonstrators interrupted the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They were arrested, and similar disruptions occurred at a tree-lighting ceremony in Seattle. No serious injuries were reported in the New York protests.
