President Joe Biden believes that a deal to free some of the over 200 hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza is near. Hamas took hostages during a terror attack on Israeli communities in October, and only a few have been released since. The US believes that 10 Americans are among the hostages. The administration says they are closer than ever to a deal, but there are no details or updates to share publicly. The negotiations are at a stage where an agreement could be reached at any point, but there are still complicating factors that could impede the release of the hostages.
