i sometimes go weeks without having a single idea of what to do in Minecraft but sometimes you just get going on something minor and one thing leads to the other and suddenly you have a whole shopping list of exciting stuff to do and thats so exemplary of what i love about that game so much

I haven't dont anything of substance in probably like a week or two, I loaded into my world, all I wanted to do was add a little bit of texture to some rather bland looking buildings i had made last time I played. Pretty small task, maybe like 15 to 20 minutes in itself. Problem was, one of the buildings I built with nether brick roof, and I wasn't sure how to mix that up. What other similar blocks are there to nether brick to add texture? I looked through blocks, and found out about red nether brick. Never even knew that existed. Crafting recipe needs nether wart. I've never actually done anything with nether wart before. So I took my elytra and went flying through the nether in search for nether fortresses that would have some. One I found had apparently incredible spawning conditions for wither skeletons, cause there were tons there. So I went back and forth through that fortress for a while, farming wither skeletons, and by the time I left, thanks to my looting sword, I had 10 skulls. I go back, now with some nether wart, and cause I can't go out on an adventure every time I need nether wart, I decided to build a farm for it. So that was a whole new project to work on, a small green house for tiny hell mushrooms. Now that I have done that, I finally have access to bigger amounts of nether wart, and I can texture my roof. That's all I wanted to do, that tiny task, but it lead to so much. Now I have a completely new building around my base I haven't even thought of before, more to do to try to integrate it into the landscape, and just as a byproduct, I have enough wither skeletons to get 3 additional beacons to work into my base, which is a task in and of itself to make them look good, and allows me to do other stuff more efficiently in the future
