i think i'm done with Sonic Frontiers, at least for now, and I don't think I'll be speedrunning it in the near future. I spent a lot of time with the game the past 2 weeks, I loved playing through it, I loved exploring the world. I've finished the story, I've beaten it on hard, I got all Steam achievements. I learned some level speedruns, picked out a number of stages and grinded them for hours each to get a good time. I'm glad I did, I had fun. But now that I've done these things and the new game excitement and speedrun community fomo has worn off, I've realized that sticking with it beyond this point would just be doing it out of obligation, or trend chasing, for lack of better word. I generally enjoy Sonic boost games a lot, but I never felt a strong desire to speedrun any of them, and ultimately I've come to the conclusion to Frontiers isn't any different in that regard, despite having a couple of aspects to it that make it more appealing to me. I'm glad I gave it some serious time, but I feel like playing other games again now
I wrote up my detailed thoughts on it after beating it last week. It's very good, definitely can recommend giving it a shot
