this is not even solely about twitch now promoting hate groups as charities but they have such a track record of bad decisions and business practices and i feel so conflicted about streaming nowadays cause every time i do i contribute to the worst people in the world making more cash. a couple of years ago there were a few instances where a competitor platform sprung up and it got some acknowledgement from speedrunners but it never caught on. i dont really care much about growing my stream anymore so if something like that comes up again i might just jump ship idk. but then again streaming is such a resource intensive thing that its very unsuitable for an indie platform to establish itself i feel like so any competitor is probably just another shit mega tech corp thats just as bad. theres no escape
