I've been playing PSO2 (and NGS) a bunch lately and it's been making me think about Discordification again. For a quick briefing PSO2 is an mmo released in 2012, and PSO2NGS is...a...followup/strangely shaped growth to PSO2 released in 2020.

Base PSO2 has pretty good documentation online, including things like class resources and guides on what to do, that sort of thing. A fair bit of it is in Japanese, but machine translation makes it...semi-workable. And forums! Thank god, there are so many forum posts.

NGS...Has a bit of that. Most guides appear on Youtube or Reddit, but your best bet is to join the PSO2 Discord (yaaay) to find occasionally broken links to google docs to figure out how your class plays and what to grind for. It's...not great. Some classes (at least back when I checked a few months ago) straight up have no official guide pinned for NGS. Trying to search for any information relating to this game and it's absolutely awful bloated materials (to be fair base PSO2 has a wealth of useless, powercrept items too) requires you either watch video guides or control+f through their Discord.

And god don't get me started on the player shop for both games. Worst possible market board UX imaginable dsfghjhjg
