Gundam Wing was the first Gundam show I ever watched, and at the time I naively assumed I would never want to dive into the extremely sprawling narrative beast that is the Universal Century gundam shows.

Having actually watched the original 1979 MSG, I feel differently now. But also it was FASCINATING to view Wing through comparison to og Gundam and contras things like

"how it potrays that child soldiers are bad and war is hell" 'these two siblings have a complicated history' 'this person should OBVIOUSLY BE GAY BUT THE SHOW IS LIMITED AND DUMB' I honestly need to now rewatch Wing in the light of the original so I'm not just working off memory from my teenage years.

it was a pretty important anime for me!
