kickstarter is a lot like last post, too. People who don't understand their audience doesn't understand the value of their work, who then get more and more word of mouth to audiences outside their goal, get pressures to scale up production... and then don't realize that it doesn't scale linearly with cost because of shipping/etc. The substrate companies encourage this and get their cuts while the person who's company they essentially destroyed are stuck doing customer service.

using the successes to encourage more and more free press (you saying you're on kickstarter), money (anything that doesn't get paid back from complaints / partial successes etc) and more people to launch kickstarters without getting the cycle.

And NFTs, and a lot of things. Games too, at least their meta-culture -- highly skilled players are seen as things you need to work towards, not the end of a spectrum, one that's pathological if your goal is to enjoy games instead of enjoy honing your skill.
