so the thing about the Alameda-Weehawken Burrito Tunnel is that the prices are so high for transit due to the inefficiency of pumped vacuum (0.30USD (2022) per trip) that they really cut into the profits of a 6$ burrito once you include inter-state taxes.
I suggest, instead, takeout waxed-paper-boat french fry container sized canals bridging the major US waterways from the Columbia River, to the Mississippi River, to the Great Lakes, and into the St. Lawrence Seaway and Eerie Canal. This allows an even wider number of destinations, and allows side dishes. However, the burrito AND sides will have to be vacuum sealed.
After 50 or so years, global warming will, if we don't let the environmentalists defeat it, allow us to do away with the takeout container boats, and just sous vide the takeout meals on the trip to their destination during the warm season.
