@wavebeem

what initially started as me testing out two different eyeliners, ended up in this inspired two-tone look. i almost did all orange on one eye, all blue on the other, but i thought it was a bit too Portal lol

im actually wearing Nyx

what you actually see is 100% Nyx product (liquid lip, lip liner, two eyeliners, and some eyeshadow)

first order from ColourPop

recently i got an order from ColourPop. i ordered orange & blue from their summer collection (which look fantastic), and mint.

spoiler: it sucked

well, the formula and the applicator are awful.

the formula is way too firm and brittle, and the applicator is a twist up situation with a very thin diameter. this meant that you basically couldn't get color to apply without using a lot of force... but the force caused the eyeliner to snap, because it was so thin. i could kind of get it on if i just barely twisted the color out of the tube like 1 mm, but at that point i end up dragging hard plastic around my eyes as it runs out after every stroke.

so, horrible formula and applicator, but it gets worse. a few days ago ColourPop showed up in my inbox to say that OMG THEY FINALLY ARE DOING A HARRY POTTER COLLAB

it gets worse: ColourPop x Harry Potter collab

and obviously fuck Harry Potter, fuck J.K. Rowling, and fuck anyone doing anything with either of them. of course there was a bunch of social media backlash against ColourPop when they announced this collab, and their response was... to donate money to The Trevor Project??

i don't remember who said this, but "you can't buy 'carbon offsets' for bigotry". there's just no excuse, and it shows the company either has no scruples, or actively hates the queer community.

summary

so, ColourPop: trash products & trash politics.

i threw that shit in the trash.
