OK So

I bought a house earlier this year right. Moved in and got settled and all that jazz. Downstairs there's a ton of what I thought were can lights, running at an exceptionally obnoxious color temperature (5000K) that makes me feel like I'm in a hospital waiting room.

I've been wondering how to take the diffusers off so I can replace the bulbs with something better.

Well, it turns out, they're not can lights at all, but are flat LED's held to the drywall on the ceiling using springs. This also means that there is no way for me to reduce the color temperature without replacing the entire unit. There are twenty fucking two of these in my house.

A 4-pack runs 70+ dollars. That means to replace all of them I need to buy six packs totaling out to 24 lights and it also means that what should be just changing a bunch of lightbulbs is a $450+ project.

yeah technology connections did a video about these things and they're fucking absurd, the one good thing about incandescent lamps was that they could be replaced with no tools by people with no electrical knowledge
