The advice to avoid run-on sentences for even stream of consciousness seems ill advised, since it's not like people can't parse things without full stops, and if they can't that seems like their problem -- for example, many political speeches and documents have them without anyone noticing, and it's not like that alienates people much more than anything else; it's not like it removes things, especially if you include resting points for the reader: get over yourselves.
