I've been talking about Dr. Kenneth Zucker. He is among the leads of anti-trans "science", if you see a paper being cited by a terf, it's probably published in his stupid Journal he is senior editor of, "Archives of Sexual Behavior." He is also among the progenitors of the "Exploratory Therapy" movement, the shitty disguised conversion therapy that says that it's only "giving options" to trans children. He is also the man who kept Gender Dysphoria in the DSM-V. It's been a year since I've done all this research but I was pretty sure of all of it at that point, I would need to find all the sources again, tho.
In the brief time I tried being a online activist I kept running into his stuff, he deserves way more infamy than he has. I wish there was at least a documentary on him but there's about nilch.
Sorry for the late reply, I was scrolling thru the terf tag because of the "If you see something, say something" jae post, hehe.
he is pretty infamous and has been for 20y, FWIW. not that you're wrong or whatever
Idk, it seems like some parts of trans activist communities are knowledgeable about him and nobody else. I keep seeing terfs quote papers from his journal and get away with it, even to trans people. He needs a take down akin to Andrew Wakefield.
Unfortunately, Wakefield keeps being cited too, it's a problem with science education in general, and publication. one that will infuriatingly take another decade or two to fix so the people who actually learned can call the shots, instead of mostly white 60-80 year olds who were raised in jim crow.
there was a very promising study on tummy issues and autism in 2022, right up until Wakefield's study was unironically cited to illustrate gut problems, the thing he used to chaff his agenda.
Yes, infuriating is the right word. I do not know what to say other than that, hehe. Good luck to us.
