Tech is now inventing gadgetpedias, bad non-solutions to knowledge that emphasize technology over what actually works (Wikipedia, encyclopedias, libraries)
because it's harder to make compelling products that are also useful, and if you need the money (because you budgeted around equal or increasing growth vs the previous year), you don't have time for R+D, only for manufacturing a new fad.
