say what you will about bluesky but nowhere else can you find a social media site's ceo desperately pleading with its users to not call its posts "skeets"

I couldn't believe this was an actual, hum, skeet so I took one for the team, and boy, it's real

What's funny is that like:

  • Twitter didn't come up with "tweets" (or the bird logo), users and 3rd party devs did
  • Mastodon didn't come up with "toots" (hbomberguy infamously did)
  • Cohost didn't(?) come up with "chosts", posters did

I don't need to spell out what I think will happen there to bluesky lol

its so funny that Bluesky made the choice to make every screenshot of theirs look like it happened on twitter. such a bold move.
