I'm sorry (as in, it sucks but unfortunately we're at war) but:
if you're fighting for the left a skill you absolutely have to put time into and prioritize as you do things, is learning how to detect or at least accurately guess sarcasm.
otherwise you'll completely misunderstand both your opponents, and snarky historical documents (I've seen people come away with the opposite point, because the author was mocking someone and the reader thought they were quoting them.)
it may take extra work and not be innate, but especially for historical documents, ESPECIALLY for translations, it's an important tool to have and have built up. it's not required for entry, but it really should be for talking authoritatively or on our collective behalf.
if you can't at least have a suspicion someone is being sarcastic, press and lawyers can entrap you. your opponents can lure you into saying things you don't believe. and you'll misread a lot of warnings throughout history that needed to use sarcasm to not get censored, as advice.
collective efforts need collective credulity and that sucks but we are small. extremely small even if loud. and we can't keep doing this
edit: tbc I'm not expecting perfection but I am expecting people to at least not talk with press, or talk/debate/etc opponents until they've developed a sense of credulity. and maybe consider being extra careful talking to coalition members if you haven't developed it much.
