so i keep an eye on the Google algorithmic news feed because it's a good slice of what it thinks the average tech rando should be served

but it leads to some very interesting patterns, like noticing there's breathless coverage of housing market being in favor of renters and then buyers over and over, bull market bear market market correction in favor of buyers market correction in favor of renters. all the same presses.

and it feels like someone's trying to create buying and selling waves to capitalize on somehow

with sufficient ephemerality of ownership stake, controlled volatility is orders of magnitude more valuable than real growth or success in any way. so if they can manage this at all they might indeed be making good money doing it. anyway that's why stocks should be illegal
