My favorite story about this was the one from the early 2010s where it was eventually determined that all the failed laptops belonged to motorcycle owners and the problem was the resonant frequency of the laptop matched a particular engine, so it would shake itself apart in their bag.
Reminds me of a certain song crashing laptops by resonating their hard drives.
