magic is ubuntu apt upgrade dropping into some curses debian thing prompting you to restart the sshd service, and it does, and then it just shows you a prompt and you never disconnected.

there's no keepalive at all by default in ssh, I've put the pc to sleep and kept a connection
yeah, but systemctl restart sshd.service does drop it so I'm always pleasantly surprised the twice a year it happens
