the morbid curiosity zone

this vacuum is intended for capturing unused material from a selective laser sintering 3D printer, which uses a laser to melt together a very fine plastic or metal powder; combustible powders can burn in a way that mimics an explosion even if the material they're made of isn't explosive in bulk. the vacuum is "explosion-proof" in that it's certified to a high level of assurance to not generate any ignition sources inside the vacuum bin, so as to prevent internal dust explosions from occurring in the first place; it isn't designed to withstand explosions.
