i know they're speaking to an audience they want to point to these and go 'we can have these too' but on the other hand,
i'm not 100% i know the why you're referencing, but is a part of it being a monoculture without suppression of a large part of the society at any cost? i am also assuming being small + rich helps, and the "rich" probably involves something i'm missing.
i'm wondering if you have a specific obvious reason you're referencing, and whether i'm completely off-base.
some of the wealth is from like, dutch east India co, but also like, Royal Dutch Shell (oil). I'm not saying the US is better, but that it's not a big gap.
