so one of my hairbrained schemes is: it's probably not that hard to convince nations to invest in direct air carbon capture by telling them it's a way to store the energy they'd otherwise waste if the grid doesn't need your uncontrollable renewable like solar.
and then you convert it into grid power when the renewable is in a fallow cycle, by... burning the methane you create. with the idea being burning it sucks but you're driving down the cost of capture even if you only break even.
