Starlink - 29/Sept/23

good lord. damn. wow. whoa. holy cow.

I thought this was gonna be a wash when I got out of the house and saw the cloud cover. I was halfway considering pivoting to a long lens pad shot and I am SO glad I didn't.

THERE'S FUCKING ROCKET LAUNCH GODRAYS IN THIS LOOK AT THAT HOLY SHIT

AND THE FULL MOON BATHING THE CLOUDS IN LIGHT

I also got to share the experience with a school group of elementary schoolers from eastern NC who I learned are going to have their project sent to the ISS on November, and that makes tonight all the sweeter. I sent them this photo before I even sent it to y'all here, because that's so rad. told the chaperones and staff to get back in touch after their stuff launches and I'd get them whatever picture I get of that launch as well.

this one fuckin ruled, holy shit.

I've also immediately put this one up for viewing and purchase on my photo site. if you saw my post on my personal today, you'd probably be aware that I'd appreciate a sale or two now more than ever, I'm in a real tight financial spot, so if this one (or anything else on there!) speaks to you, I'd say go for it.

the full moon bein' behind the haze does some real good shit to it, obscures the slight stretching nd streaking of it as it moved in the sky over two minutes. there was too much haze for stars to show through but i think that made this different in a cool way!

i'm so extremely happy with it, it's gotta be one of my favorites this year at this rate

i haven't looked back through my history of starlinks to prove that but i feel like if i ccan't remember a better or comparable one, it probably doesn't exist

if I said "I don't even try for Starlink launches most of the time" you would hardly believe me with these results tho lmao

It sucks because i think itโ€™s incredible that youโ€™re doing this and itโ€™s genuinely important to document spaceflight and show it in this kind of way! You are absolutely fucking killing it. I hate thinking about what the end result of this is, also, and i wish i didnโ€™t have to. ๐Ÿ˜“

we've seen men who chased the power of gods brought to their knees before, I try to have faith that it'll happen again.

You can only neglect your contractual obligations to the Department of Defense for so long before the fed reminds you whose in charge, and so on
(not that i'm particularly happy to be rooting for them but it's a disney vs desantis thing in that respect, i hate you both, but one of you is in the position to do the right thing)

Yeah I can't wait for SpaceX to go bankrupt and for all this "blowing on their own sails, inducing their own demand with this shit" to come to an end

i feel like that's gotta be coming at this rate, given that consequences are startin to stick to him like a snowball rollin down a hill
