i want peer to peer mesh networks. I want long range wireless internet to be cheap enough to replace ISPs but still route normal traffic. I'm not sure we can get out of this mess without that, but importantly it needs to be so easy to deploy and maintain that it doesn't need to be your hobby

I feel like 5g cells are going to be cheap enough eventually to be able to peer-to-peer with them. They're already compact and targetable, they've just gotta be made cheaper and made able to self-deploy.

I'm with you though, we need better ways of doing this. Part of me wonders if it's possible to transmit high bandwidth using CB-style architecture and spectrum. (FCC spectrum rules be damned.)
