Mono-Red Burn is like the grappler archetype for TCGs, but Personal Evolution IS the grappler archetype replicated in a TCG.

i went to look on NetrunnerDB to see what the most recent PE deck was, and it's a lady who brought a deck to Worlds and wore a top hat and monocle and fake moustache to twirl while they played

There's four corps. maybe more now idk. They've each got their own flavor.

They are:

  • Haas Bioroid (Boston Dynamics x Roomba x John Deere (tech company) x Onlyfans),
  • Jinteki (Palantir x Beyer (post-nazi_phase))
  • NBN (Rachel Maddow, Fox News Anchor x Palantir.com Influence Campaign Tab x Facebook Pivot to Video)
  • and Weyland Consortium (Elon Musk x (A17Z*0.5) x Оцелотовая Хватка)

anyway their flavors give them unique playstyles because the cards have effects that steer you towards one of them.

jinteki is the corp where one of the main strategies is, in essence, mindgames.

not just any mindgames, were talking US Democrat Party "play poker while you think your opponent is playing checkers so you can dip your pawn in the River and promote it into a Jack" mindgames.

every other corp faction is like "get rich", "build bioroid army, i guess", "real estate", "advertising broker", "Tomorrow Never Dies News Takes Over The World From Stealth Boat", "just shoot the 'Runner".

Now, an identity is an ability or effect that changes how you play. each side has to choose theirs. you only get one, it's like your avatar or whatever.

the Personal Evolution Identity adds, in essence, Ability: Stop Hitting Yourself, Stop Hitting Yourself, which triggers every time your opponent kings one of their checkers. That you forced them to king.

there's two types of people who play PE:

people who want you to have a bad time, and don't mind playing a middling deck because of how miserable it is to play against (grinder)

people who want you to have a bad time, and know exactly how to make the deck into the meanest, worst monstrosity imaginable that punishes you backwards and forwards for not knowing exactly how cruel decks can get in netrunner
