God I remember this thing and, as a kid, finding it both appealing-looking and having zero idea what it did.
a couple of these came free with the sunday newspaper when i was a kid and i'm pretty sure at least one is still at my mom's house somewhere, we had absolutely no use for it and didn't see the point of it but we liked cats so it sat on a shelf in our computer room
