is that no one with power over employees in the company bothered to care, or even know, what it is their product actually is, what it does.
they treat it like finance generally does, moving around abstractions with no care for the actual on the ground facts of what a thing is or how it's doing. and this means when higher ups lie when things go wrong, no one seems to realize it's a lie and the fix is even more unworkable.
Business degrees are a mistake and holders shouldn't be allowed to run a business, because Business is an academic research field that has little to do with industry or even management in the real world, and they keep mucking it up like psychologists and researchers trying to change preexisting industries without talking to the people actually doing the production.
i don't know where I'm going with this, everyone knows capitalism breeds this by now. but pointing out the specific force multipliers seems like its very under-used right now and everyone is already covering broad strokes.
