by those standards, even being a member of a union is assimilationist because they wouldn't be willing to do that change either without a critical mass of people, which being a minority, means we still don't have within the unions. For any profession.
the world is terrible, working within it is slow and even then. but the least we can do is try not to wedge further without realizing it's a wedge. it would be this hard to change in every industry. That's the part that sucks most.
