Yeah, same problem with facebook clickfarming, there is not much incentive for them to do anything about it. Every change to deal with it probably upsets the metrics department and all managers relying on them for showing the shakyness of their past conclusions.
Every tech company chasing being a 'platform' is chasing this grift.
