the thing about petty theft or petty crime in general is that it's way more work for something that, on average, just pays minimum wage.
none of them would really be happening if people had other options, options that respected and or accommodated them.
instead we pay like 3x as much just to 'fight' 'crime', because the upper-managers of most businesses, and landlords, want shiny cars without having to do their jobs much
