remember that getting old is a privelege, especially for the f-slur crowd and suddenly the laugh lines and grey hairs become something to be thankful for.

it's a rarity. it's patina. it's provenance. you are fine ironstone china. made to look beautiful and fragile, but never to shatter, despite it all.

the words of affirmation that got me to stop worrying about aging were "everyone has to do it with me". all my friends have to join me for the ride. there's no opting out. there's no getting old in which my loved ones stay young.

Reminds me of the grandma who has a school photo book with their names crossed out like a hit list, but it's actually her book of people who have passed away. By doing this she wanted tk see if she would outlove them all.
