I am glad he's trying to build it, it needs it even if there are existing secure alternatives, many users don't want to use them for one reason or another.
exactly. we're not personally enthused about Mastodon but we understand why other people are, and we do think that it's a good thing for the world that an open, federated platform is getting more attention.
