This isn’t like a whole history lesson but I wanted to share one of my favorite pieces of Black socialist music for BHM. It’s from the all too short lived socialist revolution in Grenada.

This song is from their mass literacy and public education campaign in 1980. It just has such good vibes. Free Grenada had incredible popular support among the masses and this song really does just have this energy of everyone working together to autonomously improve their conditions on the island.

The socialist revolution in Grenada was a bloodless mass revolution in 1979 and the socialist people’s government was ended in 1983 when the United States invaded, executed the government, and instated a conservative capitalist government.
