assuming I backdoored your sshd, does it have to actually be running on your remote to forward it to you, or is that possibly to MitM depending on backdoor, assuming it only possibly touched primarily sshd and xz and lzma and libcrypt

as for 1, does x even know about gpus? i was under the impression that it just dealt with screen regions as pixmaps
also, a gpu miner can be a cli application, you don't even need x forwarding if you just want to run it on a machine via ssh. one doesn't need to open a window to use something like cuda or opencl.
yes, but without x forwarding, that doesn't run on the local, only the remote, but x-forwarding uses local graphics. dunno how that interacts with CUDA though.
oh, i think i got your question backwards. yeah, i don't know how that would work.
I think "X-forwarding uses local graphics" is mistaken in the current age: it does graphics calls locally, but since we haven't been using X primitives for 20 years, the only graphics calls it does are "render this bitmap we forwarded". As for rendering: i think DRI makes it so the crypto miner (which runs on the server) communicates with the DDX driver (which also runs on the server) ignoring the client entirely. And of course an actual cryptominer would just use CUDA and not bother with any kind of X interaction.
what. modern x forwarding is just vnc the long way around?????
