different types of avian intelligence too. the corvids hijacked the songbird brain to gain theirs, but chickens are basically just state machines, if you anger them and then throw corn at them they'll just start eating it instead

hijacking this post: the "Bird intelligence" wikipedia article (linked above) is a very fun read. one of those articles where every three sentences is something surprising with a citation to an interesting research paper. anyway check out this crow (the scientists named him "Mango") combining things together to make a tool he could use to get at food:
