Gambling addiction wouldn’t explain smaller microtransaction costs being better, because smaller costs and more frequent rewards also make more profit by increasing time on device there

right but i figure after having that addiction fostered people are more likely to easily spend 15+ dollars on a thing, compared to before where the reason it made more was (iirc) people with tighter budgets would actually spend more over the course of the game, because it's easier to scrounge up 1.50 multiple times than 15$+

and it seems like people mostly just ignored the studies about that in like 2012, or maybe something changed and I'm curious what it was
