When I am shopping for laptops it kinda annoys me that there are so many pushing resolutions a little higher than 1080/1200, cause I don’t think the higher resolution is needed on the 13 inch screen and suddenly running things native resolution is weird
Yeah. On the one hand it's nice to see desktop resolutions finally starting to creep upwards. On the other hand I'm guessing 4K output is still hard enough to drive that nobody wants to fully commit to that yet.
imo 4k is kinda wasted on anything below 25" so I get it not being on portable devices, it's just funny that I have like 4 resolutions and none of them neatly fit the 1080p machine, which has to be 1080p because it just shares the primary monitor if one is attached
I really wish that manufacturers had started chasing pixel densities instead of pixels, at least the search for Bigger Number would have resulted in more compact laptops in addition to goofy resolutions on 15.6" 'ultrabooks'
