since most jobs will eventually collapse (whether now or in twenty years), and your skills and learning will be 50%+ irrelivant and require substantial retraining no one wants to pay for, I think it's worth strongly consider investing in the only transferrable skills across all industries: Microsoft Excel, and union organizing.

Heartily agree with this. Someone on this site gave me a one-paragraph baby’s first excel crash course (vlookup+pivot tables) and I immediately used it to slam dunk an interview in a completely unrelated field
