i wish I could stop being cool because I yet again have too many followers and get uncomfortable posting anything casually or sarcastically lest someone take it as serious advice that then gets passed on
everything just feels like this combination of
- "anyone might mistake your well established jokes with friends as serious because they don't bother to have the context just like the last 1500 times"
- and
- "you know, this really is just mass distributed casual surveillance even if the only way people show it is with very inappropriate for them to have deep context in a reply to you. people don't get what they're doing but one in ten really is"
point 2 is also, often, someone with ~10 years less perspective and collected experience telling me something I've been thinking about for five years can't possibly be related to their area of specialty
and like, it's fine with people I've had some level of back and forth with over the years, but there's just this like, constant inability for random people coming in from the shares to put forward any effort at all to read the room or even consider that I may put more than 10s of thought into posts that are About Something and Have Enough Text For Formatting to Matter.
unless the problem really is simply the proliferation of legal and easy to dose cannabis, I'm actually kind of worried at how much worse that... reflex, seems to grow with time.
