I don't know that anyone is ready to do two years fully on and then two years of everyone burning out a third time in a row and I fear we're going to have to either way the US election goes.

I don't think so either.
Everything I've heard about most people's preparations is that they're planning for just the political crisis, not the multiple other unrelated crises that have uncomfortably elevated chances of happening over the next several years, and the one crisis that they are planning for, their mitigation strategies are likely going to be inadequate.
