while I'm on this soapbox: if you see empty or full glass bottles, pick them up and throw them out, or break them.
if you see clear plastic bottles, pick them up and throw them out, or flatten them.
the reason they tell you to put a piece of cloth over a crystal ball isn't to keep the spirits happy, it's because that thing will burn down your house if it catches direct sunlight.
