most people don't have the time to constantly pull the slot machine for multiple hours at a time in hopes that that 20 second slice of time has anything good in it. join them for awhile and try it
(this isn't related to current cohost stuff, i wasn't trying to be dismissive, I'm just day four of a move and checking the timeline maybe ten minutes a day and otherwise just writing)
if you lash out because you think this is directed at you in particular: it absolutely is
ok the problem is i follow too many people so whenever i check cohost there's always like 20 pages of unviewed posts. so it's more of an inbox but i only look at a few of the things and throw away the rest.
you will always be missing a few things regardless of when you check it, you're just more likely to have fresh things if you don't keep checking it pages and pages in a row. It's why people share things so eagerly here: resurfacing a post when you see it means it gets another chance to be seen by happenstance from any given person who glances at the app then.
once you follow more than a few people, missing things is inevitable, so it doesn't make much difference when you check, in the end, imo.
