I'm looking, basically, for a strong-processor bookshelf computer to run my development stuff on and maybe some other things. I won't be making the purchase until at least black friday where I can see if places have even more off. However:
I want it to be ~futureproof, so I've been looking at the MinisForum HM90 price tier. I know there are 300$ used machines from six years ago, but I'd like to have at least a processor that came after the first two speculative execution fixes that took away like a quarter of the effective compute from all the processors of the last decade.
I'd be willing to pay the 200-300 for something that isn't going to run compute heavy tasks, but I sooorta want overkill so that I can have this for a decade instead of having to spend twice
