Sure, it looked like I followed 2000+ people but that was more a "I think you're cool and you can DM me without filtering" rather than "I will read everything you post"; I had a list of 50-100 people whose every tweet I actually read.

I never used "Lists" and didn't even know you could do that! I kept my following list pared down so that I could read every Tweet (using the chronological timeline.)

I'd have been more okay with Twitter deciding my feed if I knew I could do that with lists.
