let us talk about the complexity instead without everyone flattening it to thought terminating cliches. this isn't Twitter, you can't even pretend to be propagandizing because people following you are already at least to that point if they stay around through that.

don't just strafe the boat.

which means if people don't know yet, just shouting it isn't going to do anything but make it clear you didn't understand the OP very well

edit: the problem isn't the commentary occasionally, it's that it's incessant from a few accounts, as it is on Twitter and mastodon.

youre not wrong but imo this has to be tempered with: new people are happening all the time who really do not know and are starting from the beginning. sometimes these new people are not even young

i have no suggestions about how this should manifest socially, kind stranger. i am simply always wary of the potential for spaces to announce attainment, pull up the ladder, and be doomed to irrelevance once they become insensitive to beginners. i dont think you want here to become insular like that, but insularity is just as often purposeful as it is emergent

e: i also think a lot of people post replies when they should post comments, but i am also trying not to post about posting vOv

sure, though when I'm getting constant shares from the same six people who tack on "it's capitalism" enough that it would hemorrhage all of their followers, I'm pretty sure they aren't reaching new people without T'algorithm. but point taken regardless, I'm just still very tired of people shooting themselves in my foot and acting like I'm an adversary. because, well, of course it's capitalism. we're on a platform that keeps apologizing for it on a company that has a manifesto linked on its company page, I think raising the bar to at least three kilometers below that is maybe worthwhile in the end.

if it wasn't constant (and even more, on mastodon and Twitter) I wouldn't be this preachy. but "it's capitalism" is discussion terminating when that's already the entire point of the things I'm writing. the one was the thing about brain plasticity.

gently saying it has not, so far, worked

I've got a lot more patience for people just making up what I said in the comments, but the thing where my topic is repeated back at me as if that wasn't what they'd get out of it if they didn't just read the first sentence of the post, is pretty exhausting at ten times a day.

i don't want to start blocking fellow travellers over this but maybe I should if it's this bad

nah i know where you're coming from, and you add things I either didn't write or didn't consider. which is what I'm asking of others >.>

its good to keep me thinking about stuff like that, not that it's an obligation, just thankful when it happens.

also how the hell had I not followed you before this lol.
