having gone through the email leaks, and reading the work twitter/ZJemptv and transsafety and the rest have done, these people have close ties to: the anti-abortion movement, the christian fascism movement, the 'parents rights' movement, the homeschooling movement, and the 'school choice' movement.
-
Anyone opposing those is potentially worthwhile -- but you'll need to give them time to adapt to the right language to call you, no one moves instantly and everyone's busy. If you can't do that, then ideally stay out of the way as other people act as liaison; it's wartime, not peacetime, and we cannot pick our allies as stringently.
-
joining larger orgs who do not have this as their main goal can seem worthwhile, but don't invest too much in it -- they have a lot of inertia.
-
a better world is possible -- we saw it in 2015-2017 and up to 2020 in many ways.
-
Getting there will require enough coordination that when anyone makes a big move, everyone else can too, to maximize the stress it puts on our opponents, and to have them focus on fighting fires instead of fighting us. This only works if as many people as possible manage to 'save up' their various opportunities until there can be a critical mass of collective action across all fronts.

you don't need Big Organizations for a movement -- your groups can be your clusters of friends. But these clusters cannot exist in isolation and must link up with the whole -- if nothing else, to prevent labor duplication so we're spending the energy appropriately.
I can offer you no guidance on finding people, I'm still wandering myself right now and busy with these march email leaks. But people are out there, and they are doing what's needed to enable fighting these people on our terms and not theirs. There's people from all fields and all backgrounds on our side, many of which are actively doing the investigative journalism work here to enable seeing who's actually leading the hostile movement.
An area of particular interest if you're an academic or researcher (in especially, medicine), is grouping up with others in the field and starting to go after paper retractions and peoples' tenure, since some of them have admitted on oath to speaking completely unqualified on these things (Thanks, Lambda Legal!)
One last thing -- The big orgs? The best way to get them to move to your side is to make it politically embarassing not to.
Which means, regrettably, we're going to need things resembling media outlets and people who boost them.
and if you can, write down everything you can that won't get you in trouble, somewhere that ends up on google. So people can learn from us while it's moving, and can learn from us if we fail temporarily.
That's the biggest thing I regret from my time in DSA, not writing more down publicly in ways new movements could crib from.
And, the thing to remember is your goal is to sway people, not elections. don't dunk on rando footsoldiers if you aren't directly countering fascists, people not understanding things is part of the process, if they're just ignorant ignore them and move on. Try to focus your efforts on the people with the most influence and the biggest audiences of bystanders, time protests to grab media attention when they'd otherwise be giving hostiles free air time, etc
