when I say "toxic friend groups", I don't mean friends who are mean to you or whatever.

I mean friends who see a behavior that's clearly (to onlookers outside the group) causing you to alienate everyone outside of that friend group, and convince you that behavior is normal.

i don't mean like, neurodivergence itself, I mean things along the lines of "having huge public negative reactions any time people say you're hurting them, in a way that makes people not bring it up or Just Fucking Leave " etc

this often happens completely unknowingly and organically in neurodivergent friend groups, as people uncomfortable with it slowly drift away and get pushed out, while the ones who stay and the ones who join further are towards that. ND groups are prone to it because less spread of disconnected friend groups, in my observation. So it's something to watch out for.
