the magic of social media is you can put out messages in bottles and eventually it'll reach someone who knows it
the flip side of this is it's your civic duty to boost things you think people will find either interesting, or you think people who follow you might know, or two-hops-out might. twitter thrived on this until it didn't. and people stopped doing it as much, and I think its a tradition we should bring back more. just, you know, read the room on what you actually should boost from someone's page.
