this whole "inflation" thing sucks. all the companies just keep jacking up prices for their own gain, that's not inflation. Johnson & Johnson took the asbestos out of their eponymous talc powder recently, and even with that value removed, they raised the price by a dollar.
the beautiful thing about programming is the field and industry will never fully professionalize because every time they've tried some furry stoner in an oversized T-shirt holding a stuffed animal comes and blows every company out of the water technologically by like half a decade by releasing their homespun parser that revolutionizes some basic piece of computing like syntax highlighting or fpga design or some mindblowing json converter that processes files with superluminal speeds due to an undocumented 8086 opcode that everyone's been just cargo culting through years and years of stealing each other's chip designs or finally a successor to sql with the sensibilities of what's left after rust and haskell stop being cool
