Do you know how easy it is to dehumanize your target audience? The job is literally to make up a guy and look down on them

just recalling the ex-amazon ad guy at work ive gotten into arguments with saying that basically anything that doesn't drive the user off the site is a "revealed preference" and an endorsement of whatever user-hostile decision you just made.

subtly mix sponsored listings in with the normal results? if they buy the sponsored stuff, they're just revealing that your sponsored listings are really good and there's no problems at all with this approach. no need to ask any users, spying should be sufficient

...does he not realise in basically service people put up with a certain amount of shit because of the cost of switching to a different service,and that by the time people are leaving it's too late to get them to change their minds
